Happy Birthday Red Bagels!

Congratulations, it is once again time for a celebration! The Red Bagels Charitable Trust turns 2 this month, and what a year it has been! For a second year in a row we were able to enjoy achieving our goal of bringing more light and happiness into the world every day and we managed to increase the happiness footprint we left behind us each month.

2020 has been a year that will be written into history as a pivotal time in the 21st century. Interesting fact it also happens to be the 1st century of the 3rd Millennium, a year that changed the world forever.

Once again we could not have achieved the happiness we spread without our exceptional backup squad of heroes and partnerships who have encouraged us, worked with us, and supported us. Those who have been with us since the beginning of our journey and those who have joined us along the way. We are so grateful to you all. Each one of you has added value and life lessons that will continue to assist us to grow bigger and better in the future. Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and for assisting us to bring so much more happiness into the world at a time where things look so bleak. This doubled the impact of whatever we achieved.

ALAN

This prestigious list must once again include and acknowledge our exceptionally generous donor Alan who in all honesty makes Red Bagels’ success possible.

Thank you, Alan, for having assured us of another record-breaking year. An extraordinary achievement at any time, however, more so this year with the Coronavirus Pandemic and all its consequences.

PATRICIA

Patricia has, unfortunately, had an extremely challenging year during which she battled with her health and incredibly challenging issues both at the Ciniselani school and in her personal life. Thank you for getting through your challenges and continuing to look after other. Your unselfish devotion is amazing. While there is more to this story, it suffices to say, thank you Patricia for going above and beyond what anyone can expect from their employees.

LEN AND JENEV ENTERPRISES

Red Bagels has been a thanks, Len who is a donor and supporter through his company Jenev Enterprises. Len has donated his expertise and time throughout this year both financially and practically by organizing and paying for the transport, through donations from Jenev enterprises.

Jenev’s donations have enabled us to transport much-needed food and other necessities that reach The Ciniselani Center. Transporting goods to rural areas is a major problem, it is full of logistical difficulties. Therefor Jenev’s contribution was invaluable.

NAOMI AND C.O.N.E.C.T.

Our gratitude and appreciation must also go to Naomi Schauer of C.O.N.E.C.K.T. Thank you and everyone at C.O.N.E.C.K.T. for keeping the facilitating the co-ordination of funds and charities that make the whole more than the sum of their parts and thereby able to make projects that were undoable alone, doable.

Thank you once again to Nkosana and his team who worked tirelessly to get the building project completed. More about their project later in this report.

AYALA

I would also like to give a special mention to Ayala who has assisted me to produce both our first and second books and has been a phenomenal young woman to work with. Her calm, positive energy and incredible work ethic turn the hardest tasks into pleasurable afternoons work. Ayala always believes everything will work out fine and it does. Although she has no academic training in computer technology, she has a great talent for it and she is responsible for formatting all our monthly reports and adding the photos, letters and any other interesting articles. Our monthly reports and books are beautiful and uplifting to read and look at.

Thank you once again for getting our website up-to-date so quickly and professionally. We appreciate your work ethic. Thank you for the excellent work you do for Red Bagels we love and appreciate it so much.

Looking back on the year:

Red Bagels has achieved another successful and fulfilling year. We have been able to assist and contribute to many invaluable charities and projects. With Corona, Red Bagels’ contributions are even more important due to the increase in demand and strain on resources. Corona has not only affected the health of more individuals, but has caused havoc in the economics of every country. Lockdown has put a strain on already strained resources. Red Bagels was able to relieve at least some of these strains through its essential financial contributions. We are very blessed to have been able to achieve this.

Now without further ado let us celebrate our birthday month of awesome achievements.

We started by giving a donation to Woman of the World, they have been involved with our project of assisting a woman with her life-enhancing treatments. We are delighted to report that she is now doing exceptionally well.

The Ciniselani Center has once again been left without government funds for food for the children in our school. So we once again we turned to The Angel Network to assure us of a large delivery of epap products that will help ensure our children remain well nourished throughout the entire holiday period. Their families will also share these meals, and hopefully, there will be a little extra for some of the child headed households in the vicinity.

Red Bagels sponsored Angel Network to make some beautiful backpacks and Pencil cases with sweets, snacks, and a toy for Christmas for our Ciniselani children. We have managed to add a few extra backpacks to spread the joy a little further in a community where so many children receive nothing all year round.

Red Bagels, Nkosana and his team of incredibly hard working builders, and our project manager Patricia Shabangu are absolutely ecstatic to announce the completion of. This was the second roof and window building project for the Ciniselani Centre. The Ciniselani Centre was in desperate need of roof and window repair. Red Bagels is happy to share the pictures of the new roof and windows.

Our final project this month was a last-minute appeal by the Chevera Kadisha to supply them with 50 new beds. Each year the Chevra Kadisha takes stock of the bed situation. Any beds and/or mattresses ect. are checked and replaced as necessary. This year the Chevra Kadisha needed 50 beds and Red Bagels was able to provide them with this need.
