We start October with hope in the air. Spring has provided lots of sunshine and blue skies acting as a backdrop for Johannesburg’s gorgeous Jacaranda trees. These seemed to have erupted into full bloom overnight. Their variety of shades of purple form tunnels over roads as the trees line both sides of the road. The trees also attract millions of bees. It is a stunning sight. There are many other beautiful flowers and blossoms of all colors and a myriad of different greens to be seen as trees sprout their new leaves. The sights and smells of Spring really lift our spirits, which will hopefully set the tone for this Spring. Already everyone is looking forward to the end of the year. Parties, food parcels, and gifts are being planned.
Red Bagels responded with a donation to The Angel Networks appeal for backpacks filled with school necessities plus small gifts and treats for the school children. Most of these children have never received any kind of gift. Therefore it was fitting to start with this project to kick the Spring off with (pun intended).
We were also fortunate enough to give a generous donation to Boikanyo-Dion Herson Foundation towards their Epap Ndumo 21 Project. Red Bagels is really proud to be sponsoring the Epap Foundation. They do such a great job of feeding our children, and much more importantly, making sure they are getting nutritious, tasty food. This project is very special and you can find out more about the excellent work they do through their website https://boikanyo.org.za/. Also see the Thank you letter we received from them here.
